So near and yet so faaaaaaar..
Everything's been handy for a nurse now who would want to go overseas. Lucky for them! ..for exams are readily available in Manila & islandwide(?) - TOEFL, TSE, NCLEX. No need to go across the miles and burn money once, twice, thrice. But wait, applying abroad is not as easy as counting 1-2-3. It's a must to have at least 3 years experience, pass the required exams, be certified by the CGFNS, and have a fat and filthy pocket. On 2nd thought, madali na rin kumuha ng experience, what is Recto for? *kidding* =)
It's indeed an in-demand occupation everywhere and the ROI is fast that's why a lot pursue it and for some (doctors, lawyers etc etc) absorb it as a 2nd course. Discard shame and egotism, hello money!
There's a sad news 'though. So many nurses, so little jobs and RETROGRESSION IS BACK!! *boohoo*
Again, patience is a virtue.
BTW, congratulations to my friends who passed: AD, GD and MM!!

Sorting Out
Anyways, I, too, like to share my previous posts with you all (hello? anybody home?), hence, the move, at the same time ponder on them myself and have a good laugh. =)
Feel free to check on the grammar and the spelling, I know that's what other readers are good at. I won't damn bother. I'm just but human.
Happy reading! *wink*

Starry, starry Night & Day
From morning 'til night I was able to see 5 films showing. I stood by 2 films only 'though: "Right at your Door" and "Half Light".
The rest are quite "b-o-r-i-n-g": The DaVinci Code, Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire and The Hills Have Eyes. "Boring" meaning they're not DVDrip kaya malabo pati audio, not worth it. ;p
Both movies are not starssss studded like Oceans 11,12,13 or Mano Po 1-7, however, the twist and turn make up for it, therefore, suspense full. The mood, the setting - very tricky!
I'm not sure if others will like it; I definitely do!
Just a precaution: I'm not a movie critic okey?
..yikes! hanggang 5 lang pala ang Mano Po, just confirmed the day after ;p

"Walang tibay na maaasahan!"
Lumang istorya na 'to eh!
Why can't parents learn from the previous incidents? Scraped rubber plus injured toes and for some, thank-God-my daughter was wearing socks. Yes, it's indeed light & comfy but do these kids give a damn? Look Ma, me no kalyo!
They're amazing to look at with all the vibrant colors and the add-0ns. However, how many times do parents have to sacrifice their child's safety before they take precaution? Then, they bark and bark afterwards. Well, some are too preoccupied in that they leave their kids unattended. Going with the trend doesn't really pay. Can't you read the safety sign that you have to always hold children's hands on escalators and do not permit them to sit or play on the steps? Or better yet, take the lift and avoid using these shoes whenever you go malling.
I don't know but I never liked these clogs. Maybe for walking along the shore I may try 'coz your feet are unconstrained.
My only question is: breathable or not breathable? I'm ashamed to ask those in possession hehe..
If given the choice, Crocs or Havaianas?
hmm...Spartan na lang dear!
PS: Well, I'd still go for Birkenstock =)

Passing time
Even if I salivate for the most recent flicks, I cannot just step out, buy tickets + popcorn and fatten my eyes. If moviegoers could withstand Kimi's yelling power then yes. Good thing movies are readily available in cyberspace. Shhh...syempre bawal ang piracy ek ek!
The ones I really like are not visible yet (Shrek 3, Oceans 13, The Simpsons). I don't know if we have insufficient knowledge on which other sites to access. Some showcase them upon searching but tend to be fake after downloading. They're just make believe. Sayang naman ang bandwidth..tapos buburahin lang din pagkatapos!
Downloading has been slightly slower now. May aberya daw sa Indonesia, Taiwan or somewhere. Hmmm...OR the absence of seeders that's why.
Anways, there's no need to rush. I can definitely wait for I am already and proudly a certified home body.
Wait! But I once said, 2 years ago, that I will always be Eileen the career woman. I guess I am just on an indefinite leave or still the same, only with a little twist: Eileen the career womom.
*sigh*
.. still assimilating.. still assimilating (the neverending story..bow!)

Rain (un)check
Hopefully, for the next days, we're gonna have finer weather. We definitely need to enjoy despite the slight drizzle and the through-thick-and-thin fog. Now, my skin can breathe. I don't have to clothe myself with cozy sweater nor socks.
hmmm...temporarily, that is.
Siguro, 15 minutes lang. *wink*

Coffee Anyone?
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups.
Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us.
"God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee!

Heavy Duty
"Hey, how r u? sorry for not replying. i was in a rush when i saw your email that day, and forgotten all about it. hehe hey, i thought i asked u to take care of yourself huh?!!! how come a person still in confinement month look so skinny and pale? hey, this is not a good time to start dieting yet ok? both u and kimi need nutrients. specially u!!! if u don't take care of your body now, u'll suffer later, especially when u get older. trust me. i m an example for that next time u send me your photo, i expect to see reddish cheeks on both baby n mama ok? or else u better don;t send me photo coz i m gonna give u another lecture. don't care if u hate me for it. ok"
I just had to tell her that maybe the angle of the shot made me look thin. It's true!! *harhar* I'm not really "die-eating". I don't know but I'm not as voracious as during my pregnancy or even before conception. Perhaps, it's the absence of green and red hot!hot!hot! chilli peppers and Teh Peng (hawker Iced Tea with Milk). It's definitely what adds spice to all that is bland & wonderful. *wink*
Well, I am so thankful to have these people (my TPDL family) around 'though across the miles for they had been so caring since Day 1 of my infanticipation especially during the days when Hubi wasn't available. They were more excited than I was. And until now they are. *sigh* I'm missing their company so much. Who knows? I might be seeing them again...now with Kimi *wink*
My goal: achieve my ideal weight!
It's not to please anybody but I need to fit into my old clothes.
Mahal ata bumili ng bago! I'm already medium and more so bum!

Sepia
It was raining the whole time, only weaker 'though. Still I can't help but feel gloomy. 1st, the weather and 2nd, this old photograph on display at home. The framed pic had been there eversince yet it only caught my attention last Friday.
I was staring at it for a while. *enter senti music*
Suddenly I realized how fast the years go by. Me and my Kuya are no longer kids. We've aged. We now have our own kids to "whip/whisk/fold", assuming the role of parents. (wow, I am indeed!)
I can remember the time when we used to fight like aso't pusa by harshly banging throw pillows at each other and I end up crying afterwards. Eileen = loser :) That was like 20+yrs ago. Hmmm...will Kimi & Bettina follow our footsteps? I guess not. They'll have to resort to a virtual rather than physical game for sure.
The memories are definitely for keeps and the picture too. All I have to do is reminisce. *sigh* Good thing the photo is still intact despite the creases.
To photoshop or not to photoshop? Nah..
..authenticity..authenticity
Malay at Paki
Hear ye! Hear ye! I'm taking the lift. Can someone document it please? If I were you, come up to Baguio and you'll receive the cold treatment you've been longing for. We, the inhabitants, don't kiss stars' ass really. I dare you ask anyone.
Yes, they're none of my damn business. And it's not anybody's business either. But since this is my blog and I can say anything and everything. *harhar*
Hmmm...gutom lang yan Eileen. Chips to the rescue! FYI, this has been my addiction lately. Try nyo!

The Bitch is back
Fox, Hubi's Siberian Husky is definitely enjoying motherhood just like me. She appears to rear her puppies extra, extra carefully for fear of detachment later on. Mothers, indeed, sometimes create an imaginary shield to protect their babies. They will do anything & everything to keep their property protected to the point of appearing selfish, that is. Well, she will have no choice since 1 pup equals big buck$$$$!! *wink*
I am just jealous for she can nurse her pups without any hassle. "Breastmilk is still the best for babies", I agree. As for me 'though, I'm drought-stricken but still struggling. *sigh* Not all are blessed anyway. What's important is I'm doing my part despite the "disability". A little understanding & less pressure from outside can already comfort me.

Wednesday Blues
Well, back to reality. I'm "home based" again. Got nothing that toxic to do on a rainy day than to take care of Kimi, look outside the window at times and magmuni-muni. It's really gloomy, cold and damp. This is the Baguio I'm (we're) used to. Minus, of course, the traffic and being surrounded by the sangkatutak na FX taxis. Good thing, we're quite isolated. The view of the green, green grass of home, the pine trees and several houses perched on the mountain side is what pleases my eyes. (check out the pic on my previous post)
I'm still conforming. (ang tagal na nito..hay)
P.S. Was supposed to upload some random pics but blogger seems to reject them, will upload the next time around.

Plus & Minus
It's raining and the dams are currently being quenched. I just hope the showers extend throughout. 'Though I really don't like rain especially UP here with the damp & moldy feeling; it's a relief to experience it now. The papers say it will linger for a few days. Thanks to monsoon. Hopefully so.
I guess we don't get all that we want. We may be experiencing the rain we've longed for; however, in exchange for electricity.
Brownout strikes back! Well, it's ok, 'coz I've missed it for a while.

Left out
There are times I merely rely on news via the grape vine. Well, I don't care if they're authentic or not. News kahapon, modified lang ngayon para may mapag-usapan, db?. Besides, issues are all whirlwind. I am more concerned I guess on the weather changes. It's more alarming than discovering the Marine beheaders or GMA's SONA. I can't even figure out whether it's a Monday or a Tuesday if not for the never missed Fear Factor, Maximum Exposure, World's Amazing Videos or Ripley's.
The shift from being a workaholic to a homebody had been drastic that I find it so difficult to assimilate it. *sigh* Neither did it transform me to becoming a couch potato nor a bookworm. A staggered time won't do the trick.
If only I could turn back the clock...I would.
...on 2nd thought.
