Appear...Disappear

I'm back.

I missed blogging. So many things to share...so little time. I have nearly forgotten monitoring Kimi's milestones. He's the elixir so I can update this spot, however, prioritites ...priorities. As I've said before, documentation is important to me as I am starting to have "dementia" ;p But the spare time I have is consumed solely for him. He's busy playing now, so I have a few minutes to scribble. :)

UPDATE 1: Kimi (@11mos) has been trying to push himself to walk. You may see him scared 'though after 3 to 4-step attempts. Can't wait for him to really WALK. He's way too heavy to carry now..but what can we do? Nada! We'll just have to wait..

UPDATE 2: He's learned to eat a lot of things. A lot meaning anything that comes in contact with his hands hehe. Imagine, finding tissue bits and a minute piece of scouring pad inside his mouth. He would even flash a naughty smile when you catch him chewing something and you force your hand to open his mouth and take it out. He loves latundan banana, wafer, rice cracker, biscuits, ice cream, cake, apple juice or any ice-cold drink that is. Halata bang napaka health conscious nya *wink*

UPDATE 3: He babbles and babbles words only heaven knows what they mean. He screams, laughs, throw tantrums. FYI, marunong ng magdabog at ang crocodile tears when you won't hand him what he wants.

UPDATE 4: Gustung-gusto maglakwatsa! Titigil pag nag-aalburuto! Mabisyo!

UPDATE 5: He knows when he's gonna take a bath. He'll take off his shirt right away when inside the b/room. He will sway to the tune of London Bridge in the middle of bathing.

UPDATE 6: He can flip his book to the page when you ask him where the butterfly is :)

UPDATE 7: Mahilig sa tsinelas! I really dunno what's with the slippers? I've seen another girl his age who plays with her mum's sandals, tagging them with her along while she crawls.

UPDATE 8: He can never sleep without his security blanket...any fleece blanket would do.

UPDATE 9: He knows a bus, a train, a truck, a clock, a TV, an aircon, the electric fan and what a gecko is!! :)

UPDATE 10: Pwede syang kumandidato bilang Mr. Congeniality. He waves, smiles and plays with everyone he sees and meets even for the first time. Magaling kumalabit ng tao. Good thing, hindi sila pikon..but some would really not care.

BTW, he has this habit of keeping things sa mga mga suluk-sulok. There was one time, we were looking for the remote and he kept it inside the box of his toy. Another incident, I found his top inside my bag. Mahilig kasi syang magkalkal ng bag and wallet. His toy duck, I found on the window slit, buti na lang di gano nakabukas yung window dahil mahilig din sya magtapon ng laruan sa labas. Actually, he already lost one doughnut ring coz he threw it outside the window and we really never knew about it not until we we're sorting his toys out.

So that's it. Full stop! *wink*

Til then!

Otso Otso

What's with 08-08-08? Is it really a lucky date?

Many, especially the Chinese, believe that 8 is indeed a special number. Accdg to Wikipedia: Eight (八; accounting 捌; pinyin bā) is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word "prosper" or "wealth" (发; Pinyin: fā).

I'm sure several couples will be tyeing the knot and several will plan to induce labor just to catch up with today. Hmmm....parang may kilala naman akong naghintay sa 07-07-07 noh? *wink*

We'll see at the end of the day what will be in store for me. It's 2:08AM and I still got a long day. I wish I will be lucky. Lucky 8!!

So what happened to Lucky 7 and Lucky 9?

Awooo!!!!

It's the first day of August and I just remebered it's the start of the Ghost Month. No wonder, this afternoon, most of the locals were so busy burning joss sticks, mickey mouse notes and various colored paper with Chinese characters on it equals stuffy air and ashes everywhere. One man was even throwing oranges, coins, bread pieces here-and-there. (Yun bang ginagawa natin pag pasok ng bagong taon). It's for the wandering spirits they say.

Kimi's 1st haircut

ALAS!

The long wait is over.

After 1 year of keeping Kimi's mane intact(due to some wala-namang-masama-kung-maniwala ka di ba ek-ek), we've decided to visit the kid's salon last Saturday. He's been perspiring a lot with the long hair and what's worse is people, wherever we go, bet whether he's a He or a She. We would have done it ourselves if only he could keep still even for just 10 minutes. Kaso hindi eh; we might end up poking him everywhere...bloody hell! *wink*

When we arrived @ the salon, there was no queue, so extraordinary for a weekend.

Perhaps, we were too early and the rest are still having their lunch. So there we were. Kimi sat still on the high chair with the LCD in front of him while Mr. Bean's flick is being played. The stylist looked stern but she was actually nice. She put the "cape" on Kimi; the baby was hesitant; pulling it away from him so she immediately took it off. She just informed me that she'd be vacuuming the hair later on.

She started off by giving Kimi a toy car to distract him. A success it is!! Snip....Snap....Snip....Snap....the scissors went and the baby got no complaints.....YET.

After a while, Kimi got irritated, the lady went to get a new toy car...then a musical toy for Kimi.

The baby was pacified, however, the mood intervals have become shorter. Luckily, a little more cut with the razor and he's almost done. When suddenly, he threw his temper, he started to cry/scream. I had no choice but to carry him while the stylist was doing the final touches.

There's a slight difference with the haircut on the right side from the left side but still is negligible. Mukha na syang lalaki ngayon hehe..

"...ang gaan-gaan ng feeling...."

JULY

BUZZ!!

I've resurfaced.

The past month's been a hectic one for us. My in-laws came for a visit, then my parents, then come Kimi's birthday. Hubi and I surely have had a "break" from babysitting, moreover, get enough sleep. Of course, we had to tour around the island again for the Nth time. Nothing much has changed in the Fine City since last year. (..as if naman ang tagal naming nawala haha) More roadworks in progress in anticipation of the first F1 night race. For those without reservations yet, FYI, all hotels are already booked. In case you're planning to go during the period of the race (from Sept. 28-30), our place is available for accommodation...

..for a minimum fee, that is :) *wink*

Anyways, last weekend, we brought the tourists to the bird park. Only the bird shows seemed interesting and the man-made waterfall aviary. Too bad it rained so we weren't able to scrutinize each and every nook. Well, the park's worth a visit than the zoo dahil halos puro baka at nuang lang ang makikita, ika nga nila. We're planning to go back when Kimi's a little older in that he can appreciate the animals more.

Picture! Picture!

I hope I'll be able to update sooner. It's so hard to keep a baby away from the laptop especially when he begins to slam his palm on the keys.
Twice the weight, twice the impact pa!

Wiser than wise

The Urine Test

One day, in line at the company cafeteria, Jack says to Mike behind him, 'My elbow hurts like hell. I guess I better see a doctor.' 'Listen, you don't have to spend that kind of money,' Mike replies. 'There's a diagnostic computer at the drugstore at the corner. Just give it a urine sample and the computer'll tell you what's wrong and what to do about it. It takes ten seconds and costs ten dollars...a hell of a lot cheaper than a doctor.'

So Jack deposits a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to the drugstore. He deposits ten dollars, and the computer lights up and asks for the urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits.

Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout: You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy activity. It will improve in two weeks.

That evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Jack began wondering if the computer could be fooled. He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and masturbated into the mixture for good measure. Jack hurries back to the drugstore, eager to check the results. He deposits ten dollars, pours in his concoction, and awaits the results.

The computer prints the following:
1. Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener.
2. Your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo.
3. Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.
4. Your wife is pregnant...twin girls. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.
5. If you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better.

The Return of Sadako

Fly, Fly, Fly for the 2nd time around

The world is complaining about the increase in fuel price etcetera etceteta and yet some people can still manage to burn liters and liters of oil merely to practice their antics for the country's National Day come August. Several times a week means lots and lotsa $$$$ *kaching*

The tutubis hover around mimicking Pearl Harbor
Haaaaay..

"Absence...

...makes the heart grow fonder."

Alas! I can squeeze in a few minutes to update my space. It's 25 past 1am.

Phew! It's been a month and I definitely missed blogging. The thought of shutting it down crossed my mind for I thought I won't be able to (ab)use it any longer. Errr, not as often as before.

We've been busy the past weeks looking after Kimi. He's been greatly distressed by the change in weather. He's not a toughie when cool air alternates with hot air then cool, cooler, coolest air subsequently. As a result, erratic fever reaching up to 38.9 degrees. Zero point something pa eh pwede na syang magkombulsyon. We were so alarmed by this such that we even suspected Chikungunya. Hey! Don't dare think we're paranoid as there had been 6 reported cases in our area last January plus 3 last month and considering a sudden onset of fever plus several mosquito bites. Isn't it ironic that such a clean and clutter-free place can breed deadly mosquitoes? We say maybe they prefer virgin blood *bwahaha*

We paid two trips to the hospital so they can work him up. Nothing serious 'though. They just said it's viral infection and kids nowadays are the victims. Just a few mils of Bromhexine and Actifed...voila! Magaling na sya!

Now, he's active as ever. No more worries. Standing up, crawling, climbing the sofa etc etc. He can really consume a lot...a lot as in 9 bottles a day, 180-200ml one time.

Here's a shot @Starhub:

We're just disappointed with Starhub's service. They block torrent sites. *grrrr* Pano na lang ang mga movies? Shhh...strikto sila sa piracy dito.

Anyways, had we known earlier, we would not have signed up with them. Mabuti pa daw ang Singnet, di nila gawain 'to. Di bale no contract naman..pwede na rin pagtiyagaan. 2-3 days lang naman ang waiting time.

Baboo!! See you later, alligator!

back 2 back

I'm back in the (mer)Lion's den. I scarcely have time to blog this time as I have to cater to my 2 boys' needs plus the chromosomes on the side.

I will find time eventually.

See u soon..

:-)
